MOT Tester / Mechanic – Stonehaven
A&I Auto Services are looking for a qualified and experienced Vehicle Mechanic to join our growing MOT Testing Centre and Vehicle Repair Workshop — just in time for winter.
This is a full-time, permanent position within our busy and friendly workshop in Stonehaven.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing both customer vehicles and our own fleet.
If you’re an experienced mechanic or a qualified MOT tester looking for your next opportunity, this role offers a secure position within a respected and expanding local business.
We also welcome applications from skilled mechanics looking to progress into MOT testing — full support and development will be provided.
Working Hours
Full-time hours, with flexibility around working patterns and holidays to suit individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out MOT testing
Perform routine maintenance and servicing
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues
Conduct inspections to identify worn or damaged components
Maintain accurate service and repair records
What You’ll Bring
Proven experience as a vehicle mechanic or similar role
Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic ability
Confidence using a range of tools and workshop equipment
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Relevant qualifications or MOT testing certification
Training and Development

Admin Assistant & Dispatcher – Stonehaven
A&I are expanding once again — and we’re looking for an Admin Assistant & Dispatcher to join our growing office team.
This new position has been created to support the continued growth of our taxi operations, garage services, and school and social work transport.
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 4:30pm
Some early starts (7:00am) may be required for holiday cover, as well as occasional Saturday night dispatch shifts.
Role Overview
The Admin Assistant & Dispatcher will work at the heart of our daily operations, ensuring smooth communication across all areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Answer incoming calls for taxi bookings, garage enquiries, and school/social work transport
Respond to emails, text messages, and WhatsApp enquiries
Carry out general administrative and filing duties
Complete GDS paperwork for purchases and sales
Assist with dispatch and scheduling as required
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll be organised, reliable, and confident handling multiple tasks in a busy office environment. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
